Pre-print skills

Designers and printers must understand the unique nature and characteristics of printing.
For double-sided printing, we recommend products with higher weight in grams. Because it takes 48 hours to dry, the other side needs to be printed two days later after one side is printed.
It is very important to determine the key colors in the design stage. The color match of ink must be done well, because the colors will change after changing from ordinary paper to Tyvek® printing material. The colors of Pantone color match system (PMS) can be specified. When choosing colors, the colors of PMS printed on uncoated paper (U) in PANTONE must be consulted.
If special colors need to be printed in four-color overprints, such as the companys  logo colors,we strongly recommend using the six-color printer to print the special colors as the fifth or sixth colors of non-overprints. This provides more freedom for the correct matching of the colors of four-color overprints without changing the company’s logo colors.
Gold and silver inks can be printed on Tyvek printing materials. However, due to the scattering effect of fiber distribution structure on light, it may not produce that bright and shiny metallic effect. Gold stamping is a better alternative.

Introduction of various printing

Relief printing
Tyvek printing materials are commonly used in  relief printing to obtain a wider range of products, from envelopes, labels, commercial or industrial signs to wristbands.
Monochrome or multicolor web printing equipment for printing soft packaging materials is most suitable for printing spinning bonding fibers, because this equipment can operate at lower temperatures and tensions.
Intaglio printing
It uses engraved metal cylinders and can be used for long-plate multi-color printing.Ink formula used in intaglio printing is the same as that used in relief printing, but the rubber texture is heavier than that used in relief printing.
* Therefore, it is suggested that samples should be taken before reprinting.
Inkjet printing
In order to get the best results, UV and Latex inkjet printing are recommended.
For aqueous and solvent inkjet printing, Tyvek with pre-coated model is recommended.
Screen printing
It is suitable for printing simple patterns. It is commonly used for printing LOGO. The font size cannot be too small (6 pt or more). It can be reused after one printing.
It should be noted that the color of the printed matter after film coating cannot be correctly predicted.

Cautions

The melting point of Tyvek is 135℃(275℉). During the operation of drum paper, the tension of the drum shall not exceed 1.4N/cm (0.75lb/in) width, and the temperature of synthetic paper shall not exceed 79℃(175℉).
The two sides of Tyvek printing material are different. One side of the hard structure products is rough and the other side is smooth. Although the difference between the two sides is not big, it can still be felt and can be easily observed under a low magnifying glass. In the case of emphasizing the legibility of handwriting, the smooth side should be used for printing.
Soft-structured products have cloth pattern on one side and cross pattern on the other. Cloth pattern surface should be preferred as printing surface because it can better maintain ink and have better surface fiber stability.
The cloth pattern surface is also smoother than the cross surface. However, when making clothes, it may be required to print on the cross surface, at which time some sacrifices must be made in terms of printing quality.
