Tyvek is a protective material trademarked by DuPont. This product is firm and durable, and is both tough and tear-resistant.
Tyvek is made by a continuous process. Under manufacturing, a non-directional plexifilament is made, with a thickness of only 0.5-1.0 micrometer. It is first spun, then thermal bonded together, without the use of binders and fillers.
This spunbonded olefin is made using high density polyethylene (>99%). It is stronger than paper, yet only weighs half as much. Its texture is more natural that film, having a smooth and flexible surface. It has a wide variety of application. Its balanced physical property combines the advantages of paper, film and fiber.
